COMMENTS
The Finance and Economics Committee supports the aims of this proposition, but reminds States Members of the commitment to limit the total net growth in States expenditure to 2.5% as agreed in the approved Business Plan 2006 – 2010.
To achieve the funding necessary to undertake the proposals contained in the STTP without increasing overall expenditure, reductions are required in other areas. It will be a matter for the Council of Ministers to propose, and the States to determine, whether these proposals are of a sufficiently high priority for such funding to be included in next year's States Business Plan and the subsequent 2007 Budget.
