STATES OF JERSEY
DISPOSAL OF STATES PROPERTY: REVISED PROCEDURE (P.63/2010) – COMMENTS
Presented to the States on 21st June 2010 by the Privileges and Procedures Committee
STATES GREFFE
2010 Price code: A P.63 Com.
COMMENTS
The Privileges and Procedures Committee met with Property Holdings in January 2010 to discuss Standing Order 168. The Committee invited Property Holdings to come forward with proposals to amend the Standing Order to improve its functionality.
The Committee was minded to agree that –
- deeds of arrangement should be dealt with under delegated authority;
- the grant, renewal, extension or variation of all agreements should only be brought before the States if more than 3 months' notice was required;
- a de minimis level could be set under which property transactions could be reported to States members on a monthly basis, rather than having to be reported to the States 15 working days in advance of any binding arrangement being entered into.
The Committee is of the opinion that members can contact Property Holdings directly if they require more information about a proposed transaction.
