Fort Regent Development Committee – resignation.
THE STATES noted that Deputy Jean Amy Le Maistre of St. Helier had resigned from the Fort Regent Development Committee.
Fort Regent Development Committee – appointments.
THE STATES appointed Mr. Alfred Philip Le Feuvre, Connétable of St. Mary and Deputy Richard Francis O'Connor of St. Clement as members of the Fort Regent Development Committee in the place of Senator Mrs. Jane Patricia Sandeman and Deputy Jean Amy Le Maistre of St. Helier .

Matters noted – land transactions.
THE STATES noted Acts of the Finance and Economics Committee dated 11th February, 1981, showing that, in pursuance of Standing Orders relating to certain transactions in land, the Committee had approved –
- as recommended by the Harbours and Airport Committee, the leasing to Huelin Renouf Shipping Services of E' Store, on the New North Quay, Port of St. Helier , for a three year term commencing 1st January, 1981, at an annual rent of £3,343.90, representing a rate of £1.70 a square foot a year;
- as recommended by the Harbours and Airport Committee, the renewal of the lease/licence agreement in respect of the premises on St. Catherine's Breakwater used as a fishing tackle shop, to Mr. Peter John Nicholas Gosselin, for a period of three years commencing 25th December, 1980, for an annual payment of £570, made up of a sum of £400 a year for the rent of the store, and £170 a year for the associated deckchair concession;
- as recommended by the Public Works Committee, the renewal of the lease to Mr. Roy Therin of a meadow at Rozel, measuring approximately 2 vergées, for a period of one year with effect from 29th September, 1980, at an annual rent of £25.00;
- as recommended by the Public Health Committee, the leasing to Mr. Barry Clement Rondel of Field 1548, St. Helier , for a period of one year, with effect from 1st February, 1981, at an annual rent of £480;
- as recommended by the Public Health Committee, the leasing to Mr. Derek Gordon Le Cornu of Fields 34 and 35, St. Saviour , with effect from 1st February, 1981, to 24th December, 1989, at an annual rent of £700, with a rent review on the basis of current market values, on 25th December, 1983, and 25th December, 1986, subject to the branchage being undertaken by the lessee;
- as recommended by the Housing Committee, the leasing from Mr. Guy Clifford Dunell of Dunell House, Bulwarks, St. Aubin, required by the Establishment Committee for occupation by Mr. John Carroll, Systems Development Manager at Computer Services, under the temporary housing scheme for essential employees, with effect from 11th February, 1981, to 25th December, 1982, at an annual rent of £2,600, with a rent review on 25th December, 1981, in accordance with the increase in the Jersey Cost of Living Index from 1st January, 1981;
- as recommended by the Housing Committee, the leasing from Mrs. Clara Altstadt, née Mayer, of 3, Theresa Court, Old St. John 's Road, St. Helier , required by the Establishment Committee for occupation by Mrs. Marian Sperring, née Weissenberger, who was employed on a three year contract basis as an analyst programmer at Computer Services, under the temporary housing scheme for essential employees, with effect from 16th February, 1981, to 31st December, 1981, at a weekly rent of £39, payable quarterly in advance with an option to renew for a further period of one year and a rent review at that time in accordance with the increase in the Jersey Cost of Living Index from 1st January, 1981;
- the leasing by the Finance and Economics Committee, from Mr. Ronald Oliver Horn of Santa Rosa, Les Champs, Mont Cochon, St. Helier , for a period of two years with effect from 25th March, 1981 for occupation by the Deputy Chief Internal Auditor at an annual rent of £2,500.
Matters noted – financial transaction.
THE STATES noted an Act of the Finance and Economics Committee dated 11th February, 1981, showing that, in pursuance of Rule 5 of the Public Finances (General) (Jersey) Rules, 1967, as amended, the Committee had noted that the Education Committee had accepted the lowest of four tenders, namely that submitted by Mark Amy Ltd. in the sum of £40,960.00 with a contract period of 18 weeks, for the replacement of the Pavilion at the Airport Playing Fields.

Belmont Road, St. Helier – conversion of Nos. 33 and 34.
THE STATES, adopting a Proposition of the Housing Committee –
- rescinded their Act dated 22nd January, 1980, which approved Drawings Nos. 1485 and 1517 showing the conversion of the properties, 33 and 34, Belmont Road, St. Helier , into 11 one-bedroomed flats; and
- approved Drawing No. 217/1 showing the conversion of the properties, 33 and 34, Belmont Road, St. Helier , into 8 one-bedroomed flats;
- authorised the Greffier of the States to sign the said Drawing on behalf of the States.
La Collette Reclamation Area – new access road.
THE STATES, adopting a Proposition of the Island Development Committee –
- approved Drawing No. 268-4 showing the work to be carried out in connexion with the construction of a new access road to La Collette Reclamation Area;
- authorised the Greffier of the States to sign the said Drawing on behalf of the States.
Petrol Price s: Report of the Committee of Inquiry.
THE STATES, adopting a Proposition of the Committee of Inquiry into Petrol Price s, approved the Report of that Committee on Retail Petrol Price s.
Gorey Village Development: exchange and transfer of administration of land.
THE STATES, adopting a Proposition of the Island Development Committee –
- approved the gift to the Gorey Village Development Company Limited of the site of No. 2 Prairie Bungalows, Gorey, of approximate area 400 square metres (4,306 square feet) as shown vertically hatched on Map No. 2 (Drawing No. GV.80.02) accompanying the Report of the Island Development Committee dated 28th January, 1981 in exchange for the gift by the said Gorey Village Development Company Limited of part of Field 110, Gorey, of approximate area 546 square metres (5,875 square feet) as shown horizontally hatched on Map No. 2;
- approved the construction of a party wall, at public expense, about 2 metres in height, on the boundary between the land, part of Field 110, ceded by the Gorey Village Development Company Limited for use by the public as a car park, and the remainder of Field 110 retained by the said Company;
- agreed to indemnify the Gorey Village Development Company Limited against the possibility of any defect in the title of the said site of No. 2 Prairie Bungalows, Gorey;
- authorised the Attorney General and the Greffier of the States to pass the necessary contracts in the matter;
- authorised the payment of all legal expenses involved in the transactions;
- agreed to transfer land shown diagonally hatched on the said Map No. 2 (Drawing No. GV.80.02) accompanying the Report of the Island Development Committee dated 28th January, 1981 from the administration of that Committee to the Housing Committee.
