Matters noted – land transactions.
THE STATES noted an Act of the Finance and Economics Committee, dated 16th November, 1983, showing that in pursuance of Standing Orders relating to certain transactions in land, the Committee had approved –
- as recommended by the Defence Committee, the passing of a Contrat de Bornement with the Misses Kathleen and Myra Hunt, owners of the property Seabreeze, La Moye, St. Brelade , in order to define the boundary between areas of land owned by the Misses Hunt and La Moye Signal Station, owned by the Public of the Island, with each party paying its own legal fees;
- as recommended by the Public Health Committee, the leasing to Mr. Barry Clement Rondel of Field 1547, Westmount, St. Helier , for a period of one year, with effect from 1st January, 1984, at an annual rent of £40;
- as recommended by the Public Health Committee, the leasing to Mr. Charles Alan Le Maistre of the land known as Le Pré de Martin Le Feuvre, comprising Fields Nos. 253 and 254 Grouville , for a period of three years commencing 25th December, 1983, at an annual rent of £30;
- as recommended by the Public Health Committee, in pursuance of an Act of the States dated 28th November, 1978, accepting the devise of the late Mrs. Eunice Jane Bailhache , née Hubert, of specified properties, the assignment from Le Brun's Bakery Limited to Discount Textiles Limited of the unexpired portion of the 21 year lease of 12, Halkett Street, St. Helier , which lease was granted on 25th December, 1976;
- as recommended by the Public Health Committee, in pursuance of an Act of the States dated 28th November, 1978, accepting the devise of the late Mrs. Eunice Jane Bailhache , née Hubert, of specified properties, the assignment from the Viscount, acting on behalf of Mr. Sean Duane O'Shaughnessy, to Huda Enterprises Limited for occupation by Miss Susan Margaret Rogers, of the unexpired portion of the 9 year sub-lease of the ground floor shop, store and toilet at No. 52, Don Street, St. Helier , which sub-lease would expire on 1st April, 1988;
- as recommended by the Housing Committee, the leasing from Miss Marjorie Spencer, of Sandakan, Quennevais Drive, St. Brelade , a two-bedroomed furnished bungalow, for a period of two years with effect from 14th November, 1983, at an annual rent of £3,640, for occupation by Mr. D. Fisher, who had been appointed as a Probation Officer on a two year contract.

THE STATES noted an Act of the Finance and Economics Committee, dated 16th November, 1983, showing that in pursuance of Rule 5 of the Public Finances (General) (Jersey) Rules, 1967, as amended, the Committee had noted that the Resources Recovery Board had accepted the lowest of six tenders, namely that submitted by E. Flaherty and Company Limited, in the sum of £138,067.82 for Phase I of the reconstruction of the Rouge Bouillon sewer from the bottom of Queen's Road to Great Union Road.

THE STATES, adopting a Proposition of the Public Works Committee designated the third floor at Cyril Le Marquand House, The Parade, St. Helier , with effect from 5th December, 1983, as a place for use by the Police and Petty Debts Courts, in accordance with Article 1 of the Loi (1853) établissant la Cour pour la répression des moindres délits and Article 2 of the Loi (1891) sur la Cour pour le recouvrement de menues dettes.

THE STATES, having accepted an amendment of Senator Ralph Vibert that at the end of the Proposition the words "and on the advantages and disadvantages of such a course" should be added, adopted a Proposition of Senator Richard Joseph Shenton, charging the Housing Committee to present a report to the Assembly, as soon as possible, on the arrangements that could be made for the sale to existing tenants of the States rental accommodation that they occupy and on the advantages and disadvantages of such a course.
