THE STATES commenced consideration of a Proposition of the Harbours and Airport Committee regarding the lease of land to St. Brelade 's Garage Limited. After discussion, and on the proposition of Deputy Ronald Winter Blampied of St. Helier , the Proposition was lodged "au Greffe".

THE STATES, adopting a Proposition of the Harbours and Airport Committee –
- approved the lease to La Motte Garages Limited of 1,080 square yards of land adjacent to the Quennevais Road, St. Brelade (being Letting No. L65) for a period of three years with effect from 1st July, 1984 at a rent of £4,590 a year representing a rate of £4.25 a square yard a year;
- authorised the Greffier of the States to sign the necessary agreement;
- authorised the Treasurer of the States to receive the requisite sums as they became due.

THE STATES commenced consideration of a Proposition of the Fort Regent Development Committee regarding the leases of the Bistro Carronade and the Skating Rink at Fort Regent. After discussion, and on the proposition of Senator Jane Patricia Sandeman, the Proposition was lodged "au Greffe".
Rent Control Tribunal: appointment.
THE STATES, adopting a Proposition of the Housing Committee, appointed, in pursuance of paragraph (1) of Article 3 of the Dwelling Houses (Rent Control) (Jersey) Law, 1946, as amended, the following persons to act as Chairman and Members of the Rent Control Tribunal for one year with effect from 12th April, 1984, namely –

Oscar Le Quesne Mourant, Esq.
and appointed, in pursuance of paragraph (2) of the said Article 3, the following persons to act for the same period in place of members of the Tribunal unable to act by reasons of absence or incapacity, namely –

Review of Economic Policies – Committee of the Whole House.
THE STATES, on the proposition of the President of the Policy Advisory Committee, resolved into a Committee of the Whole House in order to discuss the Report of the Committee on Economic Policies (P.26/84).
After considerable discussion the Committee of the Whole House deferred further consideration of the Report to 29th May, 1984.
The Committee rose at 5.12 p.m.
