THE STATES acceded to the request of Senator Richard Joseph Shenton that the Proposition relating to the privatisation of the Telecommunications Board (lodged on 2nd April, 1985) be considered on 30th July, 1985.
Jersey Airport: lease of accommodation.
The States, adopting a Proposition of the Harbours and Airport Committee –
- approved the lease of 1,548 square feet of office accommodation in Airline Administration Building No. 2 at Jersey Airport to OSL Channel Islands Travel Service Limited with effect from 1st June, 1985 until 31st August, 1989, at an annual rent of £7,740, representing a rate of £5 a square foot a year, with a rent review on 1st September, 1987;
- authorised the Greffier of the States to sign the necessary agreement;
- authorised the Treasurer of the States to receive the rent as it became due.
AIPLF – reconstitution of Executive Committee.
The States, adopting a Proposition of Senator Ralph Vibert , reconstituted the Executive Committee of the Jersey Branch of the Association Internationale des Parlementaires de Langue Française as follows –

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, adopted a Law entitled the Roads (Drainage) (Amendment) (Jersey) Law, 1985.
Georgetown Flood Relief: No. 15 Beach Crescent, St. Clement . P.43/85 and P.55/85.
THE STATES, having accepted amendments of Deputy Anthony John Perkins of St. Clement that in paragraph (a) of the Proposition for the figures £35,000 there should be substituted the figures "£38,000" and that after the substituted figures there should be inserted the words "together with the sum of £1,000 for the contents", adopted a Proposition of the Resources Recovery Board and –
- approved the acquisition by the Public of the Island of No. 15 Beach Crescent, St. Clement , for the sum of £38,000, together with the sum of £1,000 for the contents, from Mrs. Bessie Fife, née Swindles;
- approved the making of an ex gratia payment of £8,000 to Mrs. Bessie Fife, née Swindles, to cover extraneous expenses, including legal fees and removal expenses and to compensate for inconvenience suffered;
- approved, after the pipe-jacking operation had successfully been completed by the Resources Recovery Board, the transfer of the said property to the administration of the Housing Committee for use as States rental accommodation;
- authorised the Attorney General and the Greffier of the States to pass the necessary contract in the matter;
- authorised the Treasurer of the States to make the necessary payment for the purchase of the property from the Capital vote of credit granted to the Housing Committee under the heading "Building, Purchase and Rehabilitation of Dwellings" (Vote No. C.1103);
- authorised the Treasurer of the States to make the ex gratia payment of £8,000 to Mrs. Bessie Fife from the Capital vote of credit granted to the Resources Recovery Board under the heading "Surface Water Drainage" (Vote No. C.0453).

Fort Regent: further development proposals. P.45/85.
THE STATES, adopting a Proposition of the Fort Regent Development Committee –
- approved in principle, the proposals of that Committee for the further development of Fort Regent as set out in its report dated 13th February, 1985 and as shown on drawings numbers –
- 521/846, 522/846 and 523/846, showing the development of the area known as the Rotunda;
- 524/846, 525/846 and 526/846 showing the redevelopment of the Piazza;
- 440/846, and 472/846 showing the construction of additional car and coach parking at the Pier Road Multi-Storey Car Park;
- agreed to amalgamate the balances available to the Committee in the Votes of Credit numbers – C1210, C1213, C1215 and C1216 and to redesignate those funds under the heading "East Ditch Redevelopment" so as to enable orders for the necessary equipment to be placed and work started during 1985 in order that the redevelopment of the area was completed by Easter 1986.

THE STATES, adopting a Proposition of the Harbours and Airport Committee, approved in principle the replacement of the air traffic control radar display units at Jersey Airport.
Prison: extension to Segregation Block. P.54/85.
THE STATES, adopting a Proposition of the Prison Board, approved in principle the proposal of the Board to construct an extension to the existing Segregation Block on the south side of the Prison.
