Strategic Policy Review and Action Plan 1994 - P.74/94

THE STATES continued discussion of the proposition of the Policy and Resources Committee on the Strategic Policy Review and Action Plan 1994.

THE STATES, having accepted an amendment of Deputy Alan Breckon of St. Saviour that in paragraph 9.10 of the report there should be added at the end of sub-paragraph (ii) the words

especially between those with mortgage

interest relief and rent payers'', adopted paragraph 2(a), (b) and (c).

 1 .  adopted the Action Plan for

s u s tainability and for the health of

t h e economy as set out in paragraphs 7 . 0 to 8.11 of the report as amended;

 2 .  accepted paragraphs 9.0 to 9.29 of the r e p ort as amended, as a general

s ta t ement of policy in respect of the

p u b lic sector and, in particular -

( a ) endorsed the overall budget

st r at e g y of the Finance and

E c o n o mics Committee as set out in p ar a g r aph 9.10 of the report, as

am  e n d ed; and the cash limits for

ea c h o f the non-trading Committees fo r 1 9 9 5 as set out in Appendix 5

o f th e report;

( b ) approved the recommended capital p ro g r a mme for 1995 as set out in

A p p e n dices 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3 of the

re p o r t;

( c ) endorsed the manpower policy of th e E s tablishment Committee as set

o u t in paragraph 9.22 of the re p o r t.

THE STATES appointed Deputy Robin Ernest Richard Rumboll of St. Helier as a member of the Defence Committee.

Public Employees Contributory Retirement Scheme: proposals for the disposal of an actuarial

surplus - P.75/94. Deferred

THE STATES decided to defer consideration of the proposition of the Establishment Committee regarding the disposal of an actuarial surplus

in the Public Employees Contributory Retirement Scheme to 26th July 1994 and that the

proposition should be taken as the first of the

items set down for discussion on that day.

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, adopted a

Law entitled the Solicitors (Amendment) (Jersey) Law 1994.

Limited Partnerships (Jersey) Law 1994 - P.66/94

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, adopted a

Law entitled the Limited Partnerships (Jersey) Law 1994.

Letter of thanks

The Bailiff informed the Assembly that he had received a letter asking him to convey the gratitude of M. Jean Picard d'Estelan and his companions to the appropriate Island authorities for the assistance given them both during and after the unfortunate illness and subsequent death of M. Guy Limauge, a visiting Belgian yachtsman.
