Construction industry: grant of licences - P.129/94

THE STATES, adopting a proposition of the Finance and Economics Committee, referred to paragraphs 11 and 12 of the policy statement of the Finance and Economics Committee on the Regulation of Undertakings and Development (Jersey) Law 1973, as amended, as published in Appendix 3 to the Strategic Policy Review and Action Plan 1994 (P.74/94), and expressed their support for the Committee's revised policy that, with effect from 1st January 1995, and for a two year proving period, applications from non-local

contractors or sub-contractors for a licence under Part II of the said Law should be granted only if those applicants offer a price advantage of at least five per cent.

Training and employment agency - P.137/94

THE STATES, adopting a proposition of the Social Security Committee -

( a) constituted a new agency - to be called t h e Training and Employment

P a r tnership - to promote training and

e m p loyment matters in the Island and to c o - ordinate the work of the Employment E n t erprise Board, the Job Club, the

J e rs ey Training Agency and the Youth

T r a ining Board;

( b) agreed that the new agency should be c o n stituted by, and be responsible to, t h e Social Security Committee;

 ( c) in pursuance of Article 29 of the

S t a tes of Jersey Law 1966, as amended, m  ad e an Act entitled the Social

S e c urity (Change of Name) (Jersey) Act 1 9 9 4.

a p e riod of nine years for a single

 ( b) authorised the Greffier of the States t o s ign the said drawing on behalf of t h e States;

 ( c) authorised the Greffier of the States t o s ign the necessary lease.
