THE STATES granted leave to the President of the Planning and Environment Committee to defer consideration of St. Helier Street Life Programme (P.120/2002 lodged"au Greffe" on 9th July 2002) from the present meeting to a later date, the President having given an undertaking that no works would be carried out to alter the traffic flows or control within the St. Helier ring road in accordance with an Act of the States dated 13th November 2001.

Agriculture and Fisheries: policy report 2001 - P.115/2002 Comments - P.115/2002 Com., Amendment
THE STATES commenced consideration of paragraph (b) of the proposition of the Agriculture and Fisheries Committee, and granted leave to Deputy Philip Francis Cyril Ozouf of St. Helier to withdraw his amendment that for paragraphs (b), (c) and (d) of the proposition there be substituted the following paragraph -
" ( b) to agree that the policies set out in paragraph (a) shall be implemented within the existing cash limit of the Agriculture and Fisheries Committee for 2003, and the provisional cash limit for 2004, except that the Committee shall be permitted to bring forward for approval by the Finance and Economics Committee proposals for additional funds, if required, to meet the single non-recurring cost of assisting with structural reform, or a reduction in the overall size, of the agricultural industry, to enable the Committee to work within the said cash limits whilst pursuing the strategic policies set out in the strategy".

School Bus Service - statement
The President of the Public Services Committee made a statement in the following terms -
" T he Public Services Committee and Directors of Tantivy Blue Coach are pleased to announce that following negotiations this week, a solution has been found that will provide a school bus service to Victoria College and Jersey College for Girls from September 2002. The revised school bus service will provide a service to all secondary schools and the overall cost for this service will be met within the Public Service Committee's revenue budget for school buses. The new contract will commence in September 2002 and last for three years.
D etails of the revised network are being finalised and will be advertised in the next few weeks. Parents
are asked to note that in order to provide a comprehensive service to all secondary schools within the available budget, there will be substantial changes to the network. Timetables will be made available from the week commencing 19th August 2002, and will be distributed to all Parish Hall s, the Library, the Parking Control office at Sand Street and the Tantivy Blue Coach offices at Colomberie."
