Composition and A1. The Committee, with reference to its Minute No. B3 of 11th April 2007, Election of the received and considered a draft proposition entitled Composition and Election of the States Assembly. States Assembly: Proposed Reform (P.145/2006) - Amendment'.

The Committee recalled that it had agreed to support the proposition of Senator B.E. Shenton entitled Composition and Election of the States Assembly: Proposed Reform' (P.145/2006 lodged au Greffe' on 3rd November 2006) subject to certain amendments. In this regard the Committee noted that the proposed amendments had been incorporated into the draft proposition which it was agreed accurately reflected the decisions made. The Committee further recalled that legal advice had been sought on a number of issues and it reiterated the importance of receiving that advice prior to the debate which was scheduled to take place on 1st May 2007.

The Committee accordingly approved the draft Composition and Election of the States Assembly: Proposed Reform (P.145/2006) - Amendment and requested that it be lodged au Greffe' at the earliest opportunity.

The Deputy Greffier of the States was directed to take the necessary action.
