Senator S. A1. The Committee, with reference to its Minutes Nos. B1 of 19th June and B2 of Syvret: vote of 24th June 2009, recalled its previous conclusion that Senator S. Syvret had breached censure. paragraph 5 of the Code of Conduct for Elected Members on 2 occasions. 1240/9/2(56)
1240/9/2(57) The Committee considered a draft report and proposition entitled, Senator S.
Syvret: vote of censure'.
Several minor amendments to the accompanying report were made to clarify –
- t hat determining the relative seriousness of any breach of the Code of Conduct would ultimately be a matter for the States Assembly, and
- t hat the allegation made by Senator Syvret concerning Connétable D.J. Murphy of Grouville had not been substantiated.
The Committee approved the report and proposition entitled, Senator S. Syvret: vote of censure', as revised, and determined that it should be lodged au Greffe' in early course with a view to securing a debate in the States Assembly on 13th July 2009.
The Greffier of the States was requested to take the necessary action.
