Note: The Minutes of this meeting comprise Part A and Part B.
States members' A1. The Committee, with reference to its Minute No. A4 of 11th December 2009, lunches. received an oral report from the Greffier of the States in connexion with the provision 1240/9/1(89) of lunches for States members on States meeting days.
The Committee recalled that the States had decided to end the provision of free lunches for States members on States meeting days (P.117/2009 Amd.(10) refers) and the Committee had asked the Greffier of the States to canvas the views of members with regard to the provision of lunches on the basis of a one-off annual charge. The Greffier advised that 5 members would be content to pay an annual charge for lunches, but that this number was not viable for the caterer. A further option had since been put forward by Deputy F.J. Hill of St. Martin and Connétable D. W. Mezbourian of St Lawrence. They had discussed the matter with the caterer and proposed that individual members place their order and pay for their lunch on the day of the States sitting.
The Committee agreed that it had no objection to the proposal, although it would take no responsibility for the arrangements, and the States Assembly would not be involved.
The Greffier of the States was directed to advise Deputy Hill and Connétable Mezbourian accordingly.
