Draft States of A1. The Committee, with reference to its Minute No. A1 of 16th February 2011, Jersey received a draft comment in respect of the proposition, Draft States of Jersey (Miscellaneous (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Jersey) Law 201-: request to Privy Council,' lodged au Provisions) Greffe on 16th February 2011 by the Deputy of Grouville (P.26/2011 refers). (Jersey) Law

201-: request to The Committee recalled that it had been unanimously opposed to the proposition, Privy Council. which asked the States to agree that it was no longer the wish of the Assembly for P.26/2011 the Draft States of Jersey (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Jersey) Law 201- to receive 450/1(16) the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council and to charge the Greffier of

the States to write to the Clerk of the Council to advise that it was the wish of the States  of  Jersey  to  withdraw  the  Law.  The  Committee  had  asked  for  a  draft comment to be prepared in respect of the proposition which would set out the reasons for its opposition, including that the withdrawal of the Law would mean that all other agreed amendments, including the introduction of the single election day; the move towards a standard 4-year term of office for all members; and the establishment of a Spring election, would fall.

The Committee, having noted the content of the draft comment on P.26/2011, accordingly approved the same and requested that it be presented to the States in early course.

The Greffier of the States was requested to take the necessary action.
