THE STATES resumed consideration of paragraphs (b) and (c) of a proposition of Deputy Louise Mary Catherine Doublet of St. Saviour and, adopting paragraphs (b) and (c) of the proposition, agreed –

  1. in principle, that the current legislation should be amended to allow the solemnisation of marriages in the open air, including public spaces such as beaches; and,

States Assembly: filming proceedings and the installation of clocks P.39/2015

THE STATES commenced consideration of a proposition by the Privileges and Procedures Committee, and, adopting an amendment of the Privileges and Procedures Committee, agreed that, after the words "at least 6 months" there should be inserted the words "at a cost not exceeding the sums indicated on page 6 of the attached report and the addendum to the report".

THE STATES, adopting paragraphs (a) and (b) of the proposition, as amended, agreed –

  1. that the proceedings of the States Assembly should be filmed and broadcast live on the Internet and that the broadcast of each Sitting should be available online to view again for a period of at least 6 months at a cost not exceeding the sums indicated on page 6 of the attached report and the addendum to the report;
  2. that the official media should be permitted, at their own cost, to record the proceedings of the States Assembly from the footage made in accordance with the provisions of paragraph (a), and to use itin news reports in accordance with rules to be established by the Privileges and Procedures Committee.
