Minutes  A1.  The Minutes of the meeting of 12th January 2016 (Part A and Part B), having

previously been circulated, were taken as read and were confirmed.

Composition  A2.  The Committee, with reference to its Minute No. A3 of 12th January 2016, and election of  received an oral update from the Deputy Greffier of the States on the activities of the States  the Sub-Committee on the Composition and Election of the States Assembly. Assembly.

465/1(201)  The Committee was advised that the Sub-Committee had not favoured the options

put forward at its last meeting, so the officers were regrouping and considering the issue from a different angle with a view to bringing forward new proposals in due course. It was acknowledged that it would be impossible to attain perfection, mindful that the States Assembly comprised 3 different types of politician, all of whom were elected in a different way, but the Sub-Committee would aim to make gradual improvements to the current system.

The Committee noted the position accordingly.
