- to request the Minister for Social Security to revoke the Employment (Minimum Wage) (Amendment No. 9) (Jersey) Order 2015, scheduled to come into force on 1st April 2016, and to take such steps as necessary to make a new Order fixing the minimum wage at £7.20 per hour from 1st April 2016;

- to request the Minister for Social Security to investigate the impact on the tax and benefits system of a significant rise in the minimum wage, sufficient to lift recipients out of relative low income, and to assess the impact that any changes arising from the introduction of the "National Living Wage" in the United Kingdom could have on the structure and level of the Jersey minimum wage, and to report to the States by December 2016.

THE STATES commenced consideration of a proposition of Deputy Geoffrey Peter Southern of St. Helier entitled Gas Tariffs: reduction' (P.154/2015), and rejected paragraph (a) –
- to request the Minister for Treasury and Resources, or another Minister as appropriate, to bring forward Regulations for approval by the States, under the powers assigned by Article 89(1) of the Jersey Gas Company (Jersey) Law 1989, in order to reduce the Jersey Gas Company's domestic and commercial tariffs by 10% with immediate effect;
