Arrangement of business for the present meeting

THE STATES, adopting a proposition of the Connétable of St. Mary , agreed that its meeting would continue on Thursday 2nd February 2017 in order to complete the outstanding items of public business and that it would therefore not meet on Friday 3rd February 2017.

Composition and Election of the States Assembly P.133/2016

THE STATES resumed consideration of the proposition of Deputy Andrew David Lewis of St. Helier entitled Composition and Election of the States Assembly' (P.133/2016) and, adopting an amendment of Senator Lyndon John Farnham (P.133/2016 Amd.(2)), agreed that –

  1. for paragraph (a) there should be substituted the following paragraph –

"(a) to agree that it should establish an Assembly of 48 Members comprising 12 Parish

Connétable s elected from within the current Parish boundaries, 8 Senators elected on an Island-wide basis and 28 Deputies elected from 6 large districts, in accordance with the table set out in paragraph (b) below;".
