All members were present, with the exception of Deputy S.M. Wickenden of St. Helier , from whom apologies had been received.

Minutes.  A1.  The Committee noted that the Minutes of the meetings held on 5th March

(part A), 9th March (part B), 13th March (parts A and B), 16th March (part A), 23rd March (part A), 27th March (parts A and B), 4th April (part A), 5th April (part A) and 9th April (part A) 2018, of the Committee, as previously constituted, had been taken as read and confirmed by the outgoing Chairman, Connétable L. Norman of St. Clement , on 26th June 2018.

Vice  A2.  The Committee unanimously agreed to appoint Deputy S.M. Wickenden of Chairman:   St. Helier Vice Chairman of the Privileges and Procedures Committee. appointment.

Establishment  A3.  The Committee agreed to establish a Sub-Committee to consider the findings of a Sub- arising from the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association electoral observers' Committee on  report. Work would commence following the publication of the electoral observers' the electoral  report and members would be supported by staff from the States Greffe. It would process.  also be necessary to work with parish authorities and the Judicial Greffe. 465/1(216)

On a related matter, the Greffier of the States was requested to provide members with a comprehensive brief on the position so far in relation to electoral reform. The Committee  also  expressed  a  desire  to  initiate  a  public  engagement  campaign designed to increase understanding and raise awareness of the role of elected members and the work of the Assembly.  

Date of next  A4.  The Committee decided to hold its next formal meeting on Tuesday 17th July meeting.  2018, commencing at 10.00 a.m. at a venue to be confirmed.
