Appointment of the Chairman of the Privileges and Procedures Committee

THE STATES, in accordance with Standing Order 118, appointed the Chairman of the Privileges and Procedures Committee as follows –

Deputy Russell Labey of St. Helier was nominated by Deputy Scott Michael Wickenden of St. Helier .

In accordance with Standing Order 118(2), the candidate made a speech and was questioned. Once the period of questions had concluded, there being no other nominations, the Bailiff declared that Deputy Russell Labey had been duly elected as Chairman of the Privileges and Procedures Committee.

Appointment of the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee

THE STATES, in accordance with Standing Order 119, appointed the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee as follows –

Senator Sarah Craig Ferguson was nominated by the Deputy of St. Ouen .

In accordance with Standing Order 119(2), the candidate made a speech and was questioned. Once the period of questions had concluded, there being no other nominations, the Bailiff declared that Senator Sarah Craig Ferguson had been duly elected as Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee.

Appointment of the Chairman of the Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel

THE STATES, in accordance with Standing Order 120, appointed the Chairman of the Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel as follows –

Senator Kristina Louise Moore was nominated by the Connétable of St. Lawrence .

Deputy Michael Roderick Higgins of St. Helier was nominated by Deputy John Hilary Young of St. Brelade .

In accordance with Standing Order 120, each candidate made a speech and was questioned prior to a recorded vote being taken.

THE STATES, in accordance with Standing Order 120, appointed the Chairman of the Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel as follows –

Deputy Robert James Ward of St. Helier was nominated by Deputy Lindsay Barry Edward Ash of St. Clement .

In accordance with Standing Order 120(2), the candidate made a speech and was questioned. Once the period of questions had concluded, there being no other nominations, the Bailiff declared that Deputy Robert James Ward of St. Helier had been duly elected as Chairman of the Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel.

THE STATES, in accordance with Standing Order 120, appointed the Chairman of the Environment, Housing and Infrastructure Scrutiny Panel as follows –

The Connétable of St. Brelade was nominated by the Connétable of Grouville .

In accordance with Standing Order 120(2), the candidate made a speech and was questioned. Once the period of questions had concluded, there being no other nominations, the   Bailiff declared that the Connétable of St. Brelade had been duly elected as the Chairman of the Environment, Housing and Infrastructure Scrutiny Panel.

Changes in Presidency

The Bailiff retired from the Chamber during the appointment of the Chairman of the Environment, Housing and Infrastructure Scrutiny Panel and the meeting continued under the Presidency of Dr. Mark Egan, Greffier of the States.

Appointment of the Chairman of the Health and Social Security Scrutiny Panel

THE STATES, in accordance with Standing Order 120, appointed the Chairman of the Health and Social Security Scrutiny Panel as follows –

Deputy Mary Rose Le Hegarat of St. Helier was nominated by the Connétable of Grouville .

In accordance with Standing Order 120(2), the candidate made a speech and was questioned. Once the period of questions had concluded, there being no other nominations, the Bailiff declared that Deputy Mary Rose Le Hegarat of St. Helier had been duly elected as Chairman of the Health and Social Security Scrutiny Panel.

Appointment of the Chairman of the Planning Committee

THE STATES, in accordance with Standing Order 120AA, appointed the Chairman of the Planning Committee as follows –

Deputy Russell Labey of St. Helier was nominated by Deputy John Hilary Young of St. Brelade .

In accordance with Standing Order 120AA(2), the candidate made a speech and was questioned. Once the period of questions had concluded, there being no other nominations, the Bailiff declared that Deputy Russell Labey of St. Helier had been duly elected as Chairman of the Planning Committee.

Dr. Mark Egan, Greffier of the States, retired from the Chamber during the appointment of the Chairman of the Planning Committee, and the meeting continued under the Presidency of the Bailiff .

Appointment of the Chairman of the Jersey Overseas Aid Commission

THE STATES, in accordance with Standing Order 120A, appointed the Chairman of the Jersey Overseas Aid Commission as follows –

The Deputy of Grouville was nominated by Senator John Alexander Nicholas Le Fondré.

In accordance with Standing Order 120A(2), the candidate made a speech and was questioned. Once the period of questions had concluded, there being no other nominations, the Bailiff declared that the Deputy of Grouville had been duly elected as Chairman of the Jersey Overseas Aid Commission.

Arrangement of public business for the present meeting

THE STATES, adopting a proposition of Senator Kristina Louise Moore , agreed to appoint the members of the Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel at the present meeting.

In accordance with Standing Order 125(1) the Chairman of the Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel indicated that she wished to have a Panel of 5 members, including the chairman, and nominated the following as members of the Panel –
