Minutes. A1. The Minutes of the meetings held on 16th March 2020 (Part A only), 23rd

March 2020 (Part A and Part B) and 11th May 2020 (Part A and Part B), having previously been circulated, were taken as read and were confirmed. It was noted that they would formally be signed by the Chair at a future date.

Forthcoming A2. The Committee considered forthcoming business for debate by the States business for Assembly and decided that it did not wish to formally lodge an Amendment to, or debate by the present a Comment on, any of the upcoming Propositions.

Assembly. However, it noted that Deputy M. Tadier of St. Brelade had lodged a Proposition, 465/1(210) entitled Period of Questions Without Notice to the Chief Minister at every scheduled

sitting' (P.76/2020 referred), which was due to be debated on 14th July 2020. The Proposition asked the States whether they were opinion that, until 30th September 2020, there should be a 15-minute period of Questions Without Notice to the Chief Minister on the first day of every scheduled meeting of the Assembly.

The Committee recalled that the Chief Minister currently answered questions without notice at every second meeting of the States Assembly and expressed the view that it was not clear from the Proposition whether it was intended that the proposed 15-minute question period should be in addition to the 30 minutes that were allocated for questions without notice to Ministers, or whether the rota for Ministers would need to be altered to accommodate the Chief Minister at every meeting,

how the wording of the Proposition should be interpreted and indicated that he would request his view in this regard.
