Law 202-

Amendments -  1.  Amd: proposed to alter the definition of "nomination day" to provide that the Presentation of  electoral register for an electoral district was the register in force at midday on Comments  the day before the nomination period opened.

  1. Amd 2: proposed that, in addition to meeting the costs of printing the ballot papers, the States should meet "the costs incurred" which could include other costs such as the hire/use of premises as polling stations.
  2. Amd 3: proposed that the electoral administrator for a parish was the Secretary of the parish unless another employee of the parish was appointed as the electoral administrator instead.
  3. Amd 4: Article 3 of the Loi  (1804) au sujet des  assemblées  paroissiales provided that the Deputies of the States had the right to attend, but not to vote, in the Assembly of the Parish that they represented or in which the constituency that they represented was situated. This amendment reflected that the proposed constituencies for Deputy may comprise more than one parish.

In that regard, the Committee received and considered a draft comments paper which accepted all four amendments. The Committee approved the comments paper and requested  the  Principal  Committee  and  Panel  Officer  to  make  the  necessary arrangements for it to be presented to the Assembly as soon as practicable.
