M.N. DE LA HAYE Greffier of the States
11th September 2003
Explanatory Note regarding subordinate legislation tabled at this meeting.
R & O 86/2003
This Order corrects a drafting error in the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (Jersey) Order 2003, which contained some obsolete cross references.
The Order was made on 9th September 2003, and came into force on 9th September 2003. R & O 90/2003
The principal Order was amended in 1987 so as to remove all reference to the Republic of Ireland, as the country was to be treated as a foreign country rather than as part of the British Isles. However, the Law Revisioner, during the law revision, has found that two references to the Republic of Ireland still remain. This Order corrects the position.
The Order was made on 11th September 2003 and comes into force 18th September 2003.
QUESTION PAPER (See Item G)
The Deputy of St. John will ask the following question of the President of the Harbours and Airport Committee - "W o u ld the President inform members –
(a ) whether there is a Service Level Agreement in force with Condor Ferries Limited in respect of the
Jersey - St. Malo route? and,
(b ) w hether the Committee was aware when it granted a licence to Condor Ferries Limited for the Jersey-
St. Malo route that this would involve certain non-direct services operating via Guernsey, and, if so, did the Committee take into account the inconvenience this might cause to the travelling public?"
