HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE
Report
The Regulations provide that a Committee of Management will be established, which shall have and exercise all such powers, authorities and discretion as are vested in it by the Regulations governing the scheme.
The membership comprises six employer representatives and six member representatives, or such greater equal number as may be determined from time to time by agreement between the Human Resources Committee and the representative associations. The total membership is currently seven on each side. One half of the employer representatives are to be chosen by the Finance and Economics Committee, and nominations for member representatives are determined in a manner which the Human Resources Committee have agreed with the representative associations. The member representative nominations have been submitted by the Public Employees Pension Scheme Joint Negotiating Group. All employer and member representatives serve in an honorary capacity.
Within the early part of the next three-year term of the Committee of Management, the in-principle States decision, secured in October 1999, to establish the Scheme under Trust will come to fruition, and the Committee of Management members would become the "Original Trustees" of that Trust.
