Report

The Public acquired the site of the former properties known as Highbury House and Stranton, Five Oaks, St. Saviour , in two parts, on 25th November 1994 and 12th April 1996 respectively.

Both properties were subsequently demolished and the site is awaiting redevelopment for social rental accommodation. It is likely that the site will be developed by a local housing trust, supported by the Housing Committee.

As part of a road improvement scheme at the Five Oaks roundabout, the Public Services Committee wishes to acquire 325 square feet of the site bordering St. Saviour's Road in order to realign the kerb to allow for the installation of a pedestrian refuge.

The Housing Committee supports the road and pedestrian improvements on this busy road junction and agrees to the transfer of the said land accordingly.

There are no financial or manpower implications.
