PERIOD OF QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE TO THE CHIEF MINISTER AT EVERY SCHEDULED SITTING
Lodged au Greffe on 6th May 2020 by Deputy M. Tadier of St. Brelade
STATES GREFFE
2020 P.57
PROPOSITION
THE STATES are asked to decide whether they are of opinion
that, until 30th September 2020, in addition to the period of Questions Without Notice to any Minister on the Government's response to Coronavirus, there should be a 15-minute period of Questions Without Notice to the Chief Minister on the first day of every scheduled sitting of the Assembly.
DEPUTY M. TADIER OF ST. BRELADE

P.57/2020
REPORT
This is a simple proposition which is time-limited to allow the Assembly to put questions to the Chief Minister at the start of every Sitting (i.e. the first Sitting day) on matters arising. It seems reasonable, at this time, that the membership be given the opportunity to question the head of Government for matters relating to Covid-19 and tangential matters. It also provides another opportunity for the Chief Minister to engage with the Assembly and the Public.
Financial and manpower implications
There are no additional financial or manpower implications arising from this proposition.
