WRITTEN QUESTION TO THE MINISTER FOR HOUSING BY DEPUTY S. PITMAN OF ST. HELIER
ANSWER TO BE TABLED ON TUESDAY 5th JUNE 2007
Question
Would the Minister advise the Assembly what progress, if any, his Department has made, in conjunction with the Planning Department regarding the plans to rebuild Convent and Caesarea Court (high rises)?
Answer
Firm plans have not been developed for these demolitions because the Social Housing Property Plan has yet to be approved by the States Assembly. It would be presumptuous therefore to commit resources to such a project until such time as the Assembly gives a definitive opinion.
Officers from the Housing Department will be visiting all residents of these estates before the end of August this year. Residents will be kept fully informed of progress and all will be treated with the utmost courtesy and compassion.
