Can the Minister advise the Assembly of -

  1. th e numberandseriousnessof accidents onB53 (La Rue des Buttes) from the junctionat St. Mary's Churchto the junctionofB53 with B39 (La Ruede la Frontière) ineachof the last 10years, including accidents at the two junctions;
  2. th e numberandseriousnessof road accidentsin the Islandas a wholeineachof the last 10years.

All road traffic collision data is collected and collated by the States of Jersey Police.  Road traffic collisions are categorisedby the Police as damageonly, slight injury, serious injury or fatal, according to the severity of the worstinjury suffered by the persons involved in the accident. In commonwithother Highway Authorities, TTSdonot monitor or analyse damage only collisions duebothto the unreliability of the data and the greater significance ofthoseinvolving injury. The table below shows the road traffic collisions involving injury recorded on LaRuedesButtes, from the junction at StMary'sChurch to the junction with LaRuedelaFrontière,overthelast 9 years(data is not available for1999).
