WRITTEN QUESTION TO THE PRIVILEGES AND PROCEDURES COMMITTEE BY DEPUTY G.C.L. BAUDAINS OF ST. CLEMENT

ANSWER TO BE TABLED ON TUESDAY 17th JUNE 2014

Question

Does the Chairman consider that the lack of proper parking facilities for States members is a disgrace and that the discontinuation of food at lunchtime was a retrograde step and, if so, would he advise whether his Committee has any plans to resolve these issues?

Answer

Despite the States decision to cease the use of Snow Hill car park for members I am not aware that there is a lack of proper parking facilities as parking is available in two other public car parks for members when on States business. I am aware that a number of members would like to see the re-instatement of States members' lunches on States days but I would remind members that they were stopped as a result of a vote in the Assembly.

The Committee has no plans to propose any changes to the parking provision or to introduce lunches at the present time but would welcome members' views on both of these matters.
