2. The former Home Affairs Minister has said the reports were of immense value in informing members of this assembly and the general public as to what happened'. My predecessors felt it was important to follow due process and carry out an appropriate investigation into this matter. The investigation was sensitive so Mr Brian Napier QC and Wiltshire Police were engaged to undertake the work. I have no reason to doubt the value of this work.
