WQ.72/2022
WRITTEN QUESTION TO THE MINISTER FOR CHILDREN AND EDUCATION
BY DEPUTY R.J. WARD OF ST. HELIER
QUESTION SUBMITTED ON MONDAY 21st FEBRUARY 2022 ANSWER TO BE TABLED ON MONDAY 28th FEBRUARY 2022
Question
“Will the Minister advise –
- whether he was consulted in relation to the inclusion of a warning in respect of anti-social behaviour on the back of the new under-19 bus pass; and
- whether he was consulted or not, does he support this approach being taken?”
Answer
- The Minister for Children and Education was not consulted.
- The Minister supports the approach taken as it will have no negative impact whatsoever on any Avanchi18 cardholders who behave responsibly.
LibertyBus continually liaise with schools and the police on anti-social behaviour issues and have had to put banning orders in place for regular offenders, who continually disrupt and abuse their staff and customers in the bus station and on bus. This behaviour is disruptive and compromises the safety of staff and customers, which cannot be tolerated.
