Re: Health and Social Security Panel - Government Plan Review

Thank you for your letter dated the 27th of August 2019 advising of the Scrutiny review of the Government Plan. I apologise for the delay in sending my response.

I can confirm the following projects do come under my portfolio and as requested I am happy to correlate these projects to the list of actions as set out below.

Reintroduce permanent funding for single parent component

Financial assistance in Old Age

Develop proposals to support disabled adults living at home and their informal carers

Delivering the disability strategy, improving communitybased services and supporting diversity

Social Security Fund Review

Amend the social security scheme to provide benefits to both parents

Develop a new approach to supporting workers with long term health conditions

Review of Long Term Care Fund

1% increase in contributions to the Long Term Care Fund and an increase in the income cap.

 

 

Deliver improved legal rights to employees

 

Complete annual minimum wage review

I am responsible for these projects but will be working jointly with the Health and Social Services Minister on Support for Home Care and Carers and Disability Strategy and Community Support.

The supporting information documents you have requested are being collated centrally and have been submitted to you as outlined in the Chief Minister's letter to the Chair of the Government Plan Review Panel.
