24 March 2020 Dear Chief Minister

Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel Revised Timeline for 2020

Owing to the impact that COVID-19 will have on our Island's political, financial and economic functions, we appreciate that it is unlikely that the Government of Jersey will be able to deliver projects as originally scheduled before this outbreak.

I am therefore writing to you to request an indication of the priorities that you wish to maintain in your work programme across the next 12 months.

We have identified the following work programmes that we expect to be affected:

Migration Reform;

Office Strategy;

The Efficiencies Programme;

IT Strategy;

The 2021 Government Plan and its Budget; and

Relevant projects agreed within the Government Plan 2020-23.

At this time, we wish to provide the level of Scrutiny needed in a nimble and timely fashion in order to allow you to focus on the job in hand, delivering a strategic direction for the Island. We would be happy to receive a private briefing on this matter if or when you believe you will be in a position to do so. A similar letter has been sent by the Panel to the Minister for Treasury & Resources outlining an identical request.

Please could you respond to this request by close of business on Tuesday 7th April 2020. Yours sincerely

Senator Kristina Moore

Chair, Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel
