States Greffe: Scrutiny

Senator John Le Fondré Chief Minister By email

12th May 2020

Dear Chief Minister

Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel Revised Timeline for 2020

Thank you for your letter dated 8th April 2020. Now that the main response to Covid-19 has been ongoing for some time, and with the removal of primary lockdown measures, I would like to request an indication of the priorities that you wish to maintain in your work programme across the next 12 months.

As indicated in our letter dated 24th March 2020, we have identified the following work programmes that we expect to be affected:

Migration Reform;

Office Strategy;

The Efficiencies Programme;

IT Strategy;

The 2021 Government Plan and its Budget; and

Relevant projects agreed within the Government Plan 2020-23.

The Panel would also appreciate an update on the progress of amendments to the Employment of States of Jersey Employees (Jersey) Law 2005, including provisions relating to disciplinary processes for the Principal Accountable Officer.

We remain happy to receive a private briefing on these matters, and again a similar letter has been sent by the Panel to the Minister for Treasury & Resources outlining an identical request.

Please could you respond to this request by close of business on Friday 22nd May 2020. Yours sincerely

Senator Kristina Moore Chair, Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel
