20th March 2020 Dear Chief Minister

Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel Response to COVID-19

Thank you for providing us with the documents from the meetings of the Emergency Council. These will be crucial for Scrutiny to maintain the work required from us over this period.

Having reviewed Item 5 of your meeting on the 17th March 2020, Supporting Vulnerable People', The Panel is of the opinion that it is an excellent position to provide assistance and advice as required on the topic of supporting Jersey's vulnerable. Noting that these documents are bound by strict confidentiality, I formally seek your consent to contact Malcom Ferey and discuss how the Panel can work to assist any coordination effort that is undertaken?

In addition, please could you provide answers to the following questions we have on this matter:

Who will provide political leadership for this project;

When will it be publicly announced;

Who have you selected to act as a reserve or stand-in in the event that those leading this project are taken ill by COVID-19 or other relevant matters;

Whether timelines will be provided to outline when we can expect each action to be carried out by the Government and for how long.

Whilst we understand that this work is being led by the Minister for Social Security ( Deputy Martin) and the Deputy of Grouville , however, we feel it best to seek official clarity on this issue.

Finally, the Panel wish to express that our intention is to be of assistance and help to provide contacts and support that may be of service. We look forward to receiving a response by close of business on Friday 20th March, and we look forward to working with you on this vital matter.

Yours sincerely

Senator Kristina Moore
