Accountable Officer Governance Assurance Statement Questionnaires
Thank you for your letters dated 23rd February and 1stMarch 2021 regarding the PAC's request for the Accountable Officer Governance Assurance Statement Questionnaires from each Director General and Non-Ministerial Department. Firstly, may I apologise for the delay in formally responding to your letters.
The PAC acknowledges your concerns regarding the release of these documents into the public arena, and would like to offer assurance that, as stated in the original letters, the Committee intends to treat these documents in confidence. The PAC does not intend to refer to their contents in any of its public hearings or published reports or Comments papers.
I would further add that we are not requesting to see these documents as part of the formal closedown process for the accounts process. The central purpose of these requests is to help inform the PAC for its ongoing review of Performance Management and its upcoming review of the Government's response to COVID-19, the latter of which we expect to launch in June 2021.
If you have any further questions or concerns, I would be happy to discuss this further.
As we were a little late in responding to your letters, we look forward to receiving the documents by Monday 8th March.
