Dear Chief Executive,

£100 voucher scheme – further economic stimulus

The Public Accounts Committee is grateful to you for your letter of 30th March 2021 in respect of the £100 Spend Local scheme and is reassured to note that if the Scheme is repeated, there will be a thorough cost benefit analysis undertaken beforehand.

The PAC notes from your response that an evaluation of the Scheme was undertaken by the Chief Economist focussing on the extent to which funding as successfully transmitted into the economy. The Committee would be grateful to receive a copy of the Chief Economist's report plus any additional information utilised to support its findings.

The PAC would be grateful for a response by 28th May 2021 which will be published in full, unless  you  indicate  otherwise,  for  example  if  there  are  parts  of  the  report  or  supporting information which need to be redacted for commercial or other reasons.

Yours sincerely

Deputy Inna Gardiner , Chair, Public Accounts Committee
