States Greffe: Scrutiny

Deputy Rowland Huelin Assistant Chief Minister

31st March 2021

Dear Assistant Chief Minister,

Migration and Population Review Panel Further consultation with stakeholders

Firstly we would like to praise the use of an in-committee debate on general population issues' during the sitting on 23rd March 2020, we hope that both you and the wider Government found the discourse as informative and valuable as the Panel.

Following this success, we wish to enquire what further consultation, engagement and information gathering will be taking place with stakeholders, including the general public, to aid in the formation of the population policy and implementation of migration control.

The Panel, as always, wishes to assist in the production of the policy and provide as much value as possible from its scrutiny, and provision of this information will allow us to identify how to best match the needs of the process.

Mindful of the need to progress matters, we would be grateful if we could receive a response by Friday 9th April 2020.

Yours sincerely.

Senator Steve Pallett

Chair, Migration and Population Review Panel cc. Chief Minister, Senator John Le Fondré
