By email: jlf@gov.je
25th March 2021
Dear Chief Minister,
Arrangements in relation to the role of Minister for Children and Education
I am writing on behalf of the Children, Education and Home Affairs Panel in light of yesterday's announcement in respect of the Minister for Children and Education.
The Panel understands that this is an ongoing process and will not be commenting publicly in any manner whilst this is the case. I would, however, like to request from you some further information as to where responsibility for the Ministerial portfolio resides in the current circumstances and what you expect the timeline to be for resolution of the situation.
As you will be aware, the Panel is currently undertaking a review of the impact of the Covid- 19 response on children and young people, and this information will greatly assist the Panel in planning its work and identifying who best to liaise with in respect of the review.
I would kindly request a response by Monday 29th March 2021. Yours sincerely,
Deputy R. Ward
Chair, Children, Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel
