19th April 2021 Dear Minister

Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel – COVID 19 Response and Recovery Review

COVID Support Schemes, Fiscal Stimulus Fund and Fiscal Policy Panel Economic Assumptions April 2021

The Panel wishes to request a briefing to discuss COVID-19 Support Schemes, specifically the Productivity Support Scheme. This is to assist the Panel to better understand the schemes in greater detail, how they interact and how they enable the best use of public funds to negate the impact of COVID presently and in the long term.

Following publication of Tranche One allocations of the Fiscal Stimulus Fund, the Panel wishes to express concern that the accompanying Written Report to MD-TR-2021-0044 has not been released to the public. To aid in the transparency of the allocation of the Fund the Panel request that the written report is released into the Public domain.

Finally, the Panel would like to request a meeting with the Fiscal Policy Panel to discuss its economic assumptions April 2021 letter in order that the Panel can clarify its content. The Panel would be grateful if officers could liaise with ours and arrange a suitable time for this meeting to occur.

Yours sincerely

Senator Kristina Moore

Chair, Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel
