Proposed Ministerial Plans Legislative Programme for 2023 - Information Request

Thank you for your letter dated the 14th of October 2022, requesting a timeline for the lodging of the legislation to aid the Panel's work programme for 2023. I am happy to share the following information;

Pensions Regulation Ombudsman

The aim is to lodge the Financial Services Ombudsman (Jersey) Law 2014 draft legislation early (Q1) 2023.

Finance Budget (2024) (Jersey) Law

The Finance Budget (2024) (Jersey) Law will be lodged on the 30th October 2023 for debate after the GP 24-27 debate in December 2023.

 Income Tax (Amendment – Stage 2 of Independent Taxation) (Jersey) Law 202

The Income Tax (Amendment – Stage 2 of Independent Taxation) (Jersey) Law 2022, will be lodged in late March 2023.

Assistance in Collection

As work continues to establish the underpinning agreement and legislation, I am not in a position to confirm when in 2023 this legislation will be lodged at this stage. I will confirm this timeline with the panel when I can.

Yours sincerely

Deputy Ian Gorst

Minister for Treasury and Resources
