Deputy Jonathan Renouf Minister for the Environment
BY EMAIL 28th July 2022
Dear Minister,
Environment – workstream updates and Ministerial priorities
Firstly, congratulations on your appointment as Minister for the Environment. The Panel looks forward to working collaboratively with you over the next four years.
It would be beneficial for our work programming to be provided with an update on the following matters, in order that we can start to schedule a work programme for 2022 and beyond:
- Workstream updates including, but not limited to, updates on the implementation of the Carbon Neutral Roadmap, implementation of any subordinate legislation resulting from the adoption of the Planning and Building (Amendment No.8) (Jersey) Law 202- [P.76/201], as well as the current status of the Draft Food (Jersey) Law 202-.
- Ministerial priorities for the next 12 months.
- An anticipated timetable of propositions under your ministerial remit which are likely to be lodged in the States for the remainder of 2022 and Q1 of 2023, as a starting point.
We would be grateful to receive an initial written update no later than Monday 15th August 2022 but also wish to extend an invitation to meet with you to discuss further in person in early September. Our Committee and Panel Officer will be in contact to schedule a convenient day and time for a meeting.
Please note it is our usual practice to publish all correspondence online on the States Assembly website. However, should there be any updates which are deemed Freedom of Information exempt, please do make this known in your response.
We look forward to hearing from you. Yours sincerely,
Deputy Steve Luce
