Quarterly Hearing Follow-up
Thank you for you attendance upon the Panel at the Quarterly Public Hearing with you on 26th April 2023. A number of items were requested or offered, and we would be grateful if these could be forwarded:
- An example of an Ambassador Pack;
- An organogram of the diaspora work;
- Further information around your meeting with the Minister for the Environment, regarding planning decisions and the Island Identity;
- Identification of the proportions of funding earmarked for emergencies, sustainable grants etc.
- Background of your interaction as Minister with the work carried out by Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and Royal Jersey Agricultural & Horticultural Society;
- The overarching grant agreement with the Royal Jersey Agricultural & Horticultural Society (RJAH') that was mentioned in the Quarterly Hearing, as well as any other agreements made between RJAH and the Jersey Overseas Aid Commission (JOAC') in the last three years and details of all payments made to RJAH over the last five years with respect to the provision of advice or other services;
- Clarification of how the impact of dairy support projects are measured, particularly concerning health benefits;
- An electronic copy of the JOAC International Development Grants 2023 Decision Support Pack; and,
- How emergency work is carried out in Syria given the ongoing conflict in the region.
We would also value further explanation of the Corruption Perception Index, for example how this was created and by whom; as well as background information, including membership, of the Sustainable Ambassador Group which was discussed during the hearing.
It is the Panel's preference to publish the information provided. However, we understand that some elements may need to remain confidential. If necessary; please separate and clearly mark any such part of your response.
We would be grateful if you could respond to this no later than Wednesday 10th May 2023 in line with the 5 working days approved for responses between Scrutiny Panels and Ministers.
