Dear Mr Mourant,
Supply Chain Resilience
The Economic and International Affairs Scrutiny Panel is writing to you following discussion of the topic of supply chain resilience in Jersey. The Panel believes this is of continued importance to the Island. It notes the recent planning application in relation to Elizabeth Harbour (P/2023/0062) submitted by the Ports of Jersey may have relevance in this respect.
The Panel would be interested in gaining the views of Solent Stevedores on any current or future threats to the Island's supply chain and how these may be mitigated. We would also be grateful if you could identify what consultation has taken place with you on this topic, by the Ports of Jersey, Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sports and Culture, Council of Ministers, the wider Government of Jersey and the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority. This would include dialogue around the development of Elizabeth Harbour, and the wider topic of supply chain resilience.
If you have any questions regarding this or our work in general, please do not hesitate to contact me. Please note that unless otherwise stated, all letters will be uploaded to the Scrutiny website as a matter of course. We will however respect confidentiality should this be your preference.
In view of the currency and importance of this topic, the Panel would appreciate a response to this letter at your earliest convenience.
Yours sincerely,
Deputy Moz Scott
Chair
Economic and International Affairs Scrutiny Panel
