Health and Social Security Panel Medicinal Cannabis

Dear Deputy Scott ,

Thank you for your letter regarding medicinal cannabis and for drawing our attention to a recommendation that was made by the previous EIA Panel for the Health and Social Services Panel to undertake a review of this matter, and specifically, regarding the issuing of licences.

To date, the Panel has not undertaken any work or received any information from the Minister for Health and Social Services in respect of the licensing of medicinal cannabis. Whilst it does not currently feature on our work programme, we will discuss any possible future work at our next meeting on 11th May 2023 and revert as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,

Deputy Rob Ward

Chair, Health and Social Security Scrutiny Panel
