P.149/2014 – Freedom of Information (FOI): Extension to Companies owned or controlled by the States

Dear Chief Minister,

Further to our monthly meeting on 3rd November 2023 which was also attended by Deputy Feltham ,  I  would  be  grateful  if  you  could  confirm  what  work,  if  any,  is  ongoing  on  the implementation of P.149/2014 – Freedom of Information (FOI): Extension to Companies owned or controlled by the States.

As discussed, this proposition was approved by the Assembly in 2014 and has yet to be enacted. Certain implications of this situation have been raised at Scrutiny Liaison Committee meetings, with the Committee noting recently that it remains unaware of a clear timeframe being in place for its implementation.

We would be grateful if you could provide a timeline for this and if you could respond to this no later by 16th November 2023 in line with the 5 working days approved for responses between Scrutiny Panels and Ministers.

Yours sincerely,

Deputy Sam Mézec

President, Scrutiny Liaison Committee
