States Greffe

Deputy Tom Binet , Minister for Infrastructure BY EMAIL

4th April 2023

Dear Minister,

Request for information - Work Permit Holder Welfare Review Panel

The Work Permit Holder Welfare Review Panel was launched in February 2023 and has been gathering information and evidence from a number of sources in order to fulfil its Terms of Reference. During the course of this work, the Panel has been informed that Kenya is not one of the listed countries from which Jersey authorities will accept driving licences for exchange (Moving to Jersey: Apply for Jersey driving license (gov.je)).

The Panel would like to understand why this is the case and what criteria prevent the exchange?

The Panel would be grateful of a response within five working days of receipt of this letter. Yours sincerely

Deputy Beatriz Porée

Chair
