BY EMAIL 5th June 2024 Dear Minister,

Economic and International Affairs Scrutiny Panel Acceptance of Cash Payments Review

I write to inform you that the Economic and International Affairs Scrutiny Panel has agreed to undertake a review on Acceptance of Cash Payments in the local economy, having identified this as  an  area  following  public  interests  in  the  topic.  Noting  the  implications  for  consumers, businesses and the wider economy we have identified that you would likely be best placed to serve as Ministerial representative, however the Panel will share this letter with the Chief Minister and Minister for Treasury and Resources for their awareness. Attached to this letter are the Terms of Reference for the Panel's review.

Our  Officer  will  be  in  touch  with  your  department  in  due  course  to  request  any  relevant documentation and to arrange a Public Hearing with you on this matter. We intend to invite submissions from relevant stakeholders, and we will publicise our review so that members of the public can submit information or views.

We look forward to working with you and thank you in anticipation of your assistance on this issue. Yours sincerely,
