Welcome from the Chair and an opportunity for Members to bring any matters of interest to the attention of the Panel.

To note and approve the record of the meeting held on 12th September 2024 SCRUTINY MATTERS

  1. Review: Secondary Education Funding
  1. To receive a verbal update from the Committee and Panel Officer on the status of the review; and
  2. To approve the draft Heads of Report
  1. Comments: Nationality Acts: Extension to Jersey' (P.55/2024)

To consider and, if thought fit, approve a draft comments paper in relation to the proposition

To consider and, if thought fit, approve a draft comments paper in relation to the proposition

  1. Public Hearing: Online Safety for Children in Jersey'

To note that the Panel will hold a standalone public hearing with the Minister for Children and Families, the Minister for Justice and Home Affairs and the Minister for Sustainable Economic Development on 4th October 2024 and to approve its draft question plan

  1. Quarterly Public Hearing with the Minister for Justice and Home Affairs

To note that the Panel will hold a quarterly public hearing with the Minister for Justice and Home Affairs on 9th October 2024 and to discuss the topics to include its draft question plan.

  1. Review: Proposed Budget 2025-2028
  1. To receive a verbal update from officer on the status of the review and any written submissions received;
  2. To note receipt of a letter from the Minister for Children and Families and the Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning on 6th September 2024;
  3. To note receipt of a letter from the Minister for Justice and Home Affairs on 16th September 2024; and
  4. To discuss areas of focus for the public hearings with each of the Ministers.
