| Debrief following the 5th April Hearing The Panel discussed the questions and evidence received following its hearing on the 5th April 2006. The attendees had been - Mr. R. Syvret, Andium Limited Mr. J. Pinel, Chief Executive Jersey Post Senator T. Le Sueur , Treasury Minister and Mr. R. Bell, Head of Corporate Financial Strategy Division Senator P. Ozouf , Economic Development Minister, Connétable s G. Fisher, Assistant Minister and Mr. M. King, Chief Executive, Economic Development Department. The Panel noted that the JCRA had decided that Messrs. P. Hamilton and C. Webb, Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority would not attend the Hearing but that its Chief Executive would be available to the Panel for its next Hearing. The Panel noted the key issues raised during the hearing and agreed an outline of the matters to be included in its report. The Panel requested that a meeting with the Postal Union be arranged to discuss the impact of efficiencies at Jersey Post. It also decided that it would require further information relating to the financial scenarios provided by Jersey Post, details of the Jersey Post contingency arrangements for loss of any aspect of its revenue and a meeting with the Comptroller and Auditor General. The Panel agreed that its next Hearing date would be the 5th May 2006 and that it would wish to see the following witnesses - Mr. B. Brown, Jersey Competition Regulatory Advisor Jersey Postal Union Representative The Finance Director Jersey Post Deputy P. Ryan former President of the Committee for Postal Administration. the Comptroller and Auditor General and to report back to the Panel. Deputy Martin agreed to undertake a site visit to DMS fulfilment of behalf of the Panel and to report back.
The Panel agreed that it would be necessary for it to meet on the 28th April 2006 as a normal meeting and on the 3rd May to finalise the questions for the 5th May 2006 Hearing which would be open to the Public from 9.30 am.
It was agreed that the Press should be advised of the forthcoming meetings and hearing.
