This part of the meeting was held in private session under Item 3.2.1(a)(i) of Code of Practice on Public Access to Official Information.
The Panel considered progress on the Review to date. With reference to the Terms of Reference, the Panel identified areas TO that warranted further study. The Scrutiny Officer was requested to undertake work in these areas. The Panel recalled that, on 30th April 2007, it had met the Comptroller and Auditor-General, Mr. C. Swinson OBE, and received an update on the progress of the Nursery Education report that he was preparing. The Panel further recalled its agreement that it would be useful for the Officers to remain in contact with the Comptroller and Auditor General on this issue. It was noted that the meeting had touched upon a variety of topics, including the Children's Executive; education at HMP La Moye; the Probation Service; and the possibility of a Panel visit to Highlands College. |

8] The Panel was advised that it was understood that the Health,
Social Security and Housing (HSSH) Scrutiny Panel would acknowledge the Ministerial Response to The GP Out-of-Hours Co-Operative Service (SR6/2007). It was recalled that comments
had been identified at the Panel Meeting on 23rd July 2007. The
Officers were requested to circulate these comments for WM / confirmation that they could subsequently be forwarded to the TO HSSH Panel.
